Have you seen this other thread: https://communities.intel.com/message/229322#229322, I think that is the one that you are using, but in that case 'Ling' is using Debian. There are more examples about TFT screensin the communities (you could use this one as an idea on how to start), but I haven't heard much of this one that you are using. Let me know if it helps.
